5th edition of SEMICON India 2026 to begin on Sept 17

The fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 is set to be held in New Delhi starting on the 17th of next month. The three-day event is expected to host over 500 exhibitors and about 240 exhibiting companies representing more than 40 countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the conference and will also lead a roundtable with global CEOs from the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Germany, the Netherlands, and Malaysia.

Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi today, Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology S. Krishnan said the exhibition will include six international pavilions from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, and the Netherlands. He added that this year’s theme is “Silicon to Systems, Building the Ecosystems”.

The event is seen as strengthening confidence in the Government’s forward-looking policies and initiatives, while underscoring India’s commitment to building a strong, resilient, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem.

The conference agenda includes panel discussions, fireside chats, and international country roundtables, offering a forum for dialogue and collaboration to speed up semiconductor innovation and industry growth. The Ministry also noted that the programme will feature a session focused on women’s empowerment and leadership within the semiconductor sector.
