Russian leader Vladimir Putin made these remarks while answering journalists' questions on Valaam Island in Lake Ladoga, Karelia. His words were quoted in the Telegram channel of journalist and TV host Vladimir Solovyov. The President noted that with the loss of the European Union's political sovereignty comes the loss of economic sovereignty and "colossal losses."

Earlier, Putin made an important statement regarding the development of the Russian long-range missile system "Oreshnik." The country's President announced that serial production of the "Oreshnik" has begun in Russia. According to the head of state, the serial-produced system has already been delivered to the troops. "First of all, I want to say in this regard that we have produced the first serial 'Oreshnik' complex, and it has been delivered to the troops. Now serial production is underway," the Russian leader stated during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.
