The largest cuts are expected in the financial sector (37%), the IT industry (26%), and the legal business (24%). Junior specialists and administrative staff are considered the most vulnerable.
Economist James Cockett noted that artificial intelligence significantly increases labor productivity but “may leave many people without work.” In addition, the hiring rate in the country remains at its lowest since the beginning of the pandemic, and nearly 13% of young Britons are neither studying nor working, further worsening the labor market situation.
