According to the latest trends from the Election Commission of India, results are now available for 240 out of 243 seats, revealing a clear pattern. The voting trends closely resemble those recorded in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Within the ruling NDA alliance, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently leading in 82 constituencies with a 22.4% vote share, the Janata Dal (United) in 75 with 18.5%, and the Lok Janshakti Party (LJPRV) in 22 with 5.7%. Combined, the NDA’s overall vote share stands at 48.3% based on results available as of 11:15 a.m. on Friday.
This performance largely reflects the coalition’s standing in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, when the BJP secured 21% of the votes (up 1.4 percentage points this year), JD(U) received 18.9% (down marginally by 0.4 points), and LJPRV got 6.6% (declining by 0.9 points). In 2024, the NDA’s total vote share had been almost identical at 48.2%.
The table below illustrates the vote share of each party during the 2020 Bihar Assembly Elections, the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Percentages are shown in %.
Although the RJD currently leads in only 36 seats, its vote share has slightly increased to 23% in the 2025 Assembly elections from 22.6% in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Conversely, the Congress party’s share fell from 9.4% in 2024 to 7.9% in the latest election. Overall, the Mahagathbandhan’s total vote share has dropped to 36.9%, about 3 points down from 40.1% in 2024. Congress and smaller allies such as the Vikassheel Insaan Party saw relatively sharper declines.
The Jan Suraaj Party gained 3.5% of votes, mainly drawing from the Mahagathbandhan’s base, while the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) increased its share to 1.4%, up from 0.9% in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
In short, opposition votes were partially divided between the JSP and AIMIM, allowing the NDA to retain its dominance with minimal loss in support during the 2025 elections.
The report will be updated with final results once counting concludes. All figures are based on early trends.
