For a month before their trip to Russia, 12 future NSTU students from the targeted group of Ghana’s Ministry of Special Projects will receive basic knowledge of the Russian language and everyday communication, become familiar with Russian culture and traditions, and learn how to navigate the city where they will study and live.
Since the targeted students were selected from different regions of Ghana, the classes are held in a hybrid format. Residents of Accra can attend lessons in person at the office of the Center for Public Diplomacy, while participants from other cities study from home online.
It is worth noting that the students have already received general information about the university and the organization of the educational process in advance, including directly from NSTU Vice-Rector Sergey Chernov during a meeting at Ghana’s Ministry of Special Projects. For NSTU — one of the most active members of the Consortium of Russian Universities for Cooperation with African Countries — this targeted group of African students will be the second one.
In addition, in a special messenger group, the Ghanaian NSTU students will be able to promptly receive answers to all their questions about the upcoming trip and immediate support in any matters related to studying and living in Russia.
Representatives of the Center for Public Diplomacy emphasize that intensive preliminary preparation will help Ghanaian students feel confident in Novosibirsk from the very first days and focus on their main goal — successfully obtaining a high-quality Russian education.
