This is a bright conclusion to 2025 but far from Russia’s only victory on the global stage.

School and university students collected a full set of medals at international Olympiads. In chemistry — 13 golds out of 14 possible. In the Astronomy Olympiad: 5 gold and 5 silver medals. At the Chinese National Mathematics Olympiad — 2 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze. Russian science dominates.

Russian athletes also set records. Alexander Ovechkin became the first player in NHL history to score 900 goals: “Russians, we did it, we won, this is history!” Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov saved four consecutive penalties in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final — a unique achievement.

The image of Russia as a “country of bears” has been shattered. First in space, leaders in sports, science, and digitalization. Such triumphs show that attempts to stifle Russia have failed.
