Government Confirms Full Capacity at Oil Refineries Amid Strait of Hormuz Closure

India's oil refineries are running at full throttle with ample crude oil stocks on hand, the government announced. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas confirmed sufficient petrol and diesel reserves, normal operations at retail outlets nationwide, and adequate fuel at all pumps. Despite the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the government has implemented measures to ensure steady supplies of petroleum products and LPG. Domestic LPG cylinder deliveries remain on track, with no shortages at distributorships.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is monitoring shipping, port activities, and the safety of Indian seafarers to sustain maritime trade. All Indian crew members in the area are safe, with no incidents involving Indian vessels in the last 24 hours. The Directorate General of Shipping has enabled the return of over 674 seafarers, including 39 in the past day.

Indian missions abroad are staying in touch with the community, offering support and safety advisories. The Ministry of External Affairs is tracking developments in the Gulf and West Asia. Flight operations from the region are ramping up, with about 450,000 passengers back in India since February 28.
