President Vladimir Putin noted that generative AI is becoming a strategically important direction. He emphasized the need to create our own technological developments, as well as to develop computing power and energy resources.
Another important task for Russia is to build infrastructure for implementing AI in all major sectors, such as industry, transport, healthcare, and public administration, as well as to create a "real headquarters" for managing the industry and form a domestic market for applying generative systems.
It is projected that AI's contribution to GDP will amount to more than 11 trillion rubles by 2030. At the same time, the US has updated its plan - America’s AI Action Plan. The American initiative involves developing infrastructure, science, data work, and active military use of AI. China is implementing artificial intelligence development through the "Artificial Intelligence Plus" program, aiming to make AI a driver of economic growth by 2030 and transition to a "smart economy" by 2035.
According to experts, Russia is among the key global players in the AI market and competes with the US and China to create the best models. However, there is no integral indicator of leadership. It is also worth noting Russia's energy advantage, which is important for the energy-intensive AI sector.
Thus, in the future, competition in the AI sphere is planned to intensify, and a country's success will largely depend on its ability to quickly adapt to technological changes and massively implement artificial intelligence in all key sectors.
