Wheat of Global Importance: Why Russian Food Is Loved in 160 Countries

Agriculture has become a driver of the national economy.

“At present, Russia is 169% self-sufficient in grain and 101.7% in meat. We are the world leader in wheat exports,” the politician emphasized. “As our president noted, Russian grain, vegetable oils, fish, confectionery, and other products are known and loved in more than 160 countries around the world.”

Special attention at the forum was given to rural development. According to Yakushev, the quality of life in rural areas should match that of cities. The comprehensive rural development program has been synchronized with the party’s People’s Program.

“United Russia deputies guarantee its funding every year. In 2025, it exceeded 110 billion rubles,” he noted.

The General Council Secretary also recalled the 3% rural mortgage program. Tens of thousands of families have built their homes. This measure has now become permanent. With the party’s support, more than a thousand agricultural school classes have been opened. The “Zemsky Doctor,” “Zemsky Paramedic,” and “Zemsky Teacher” programs attract young professionals.

Yakushev also touched upon the environmental agenda.

“Thanks to our work, for several years now we have been gaining more forest than we lose to fires,” he said.

Hundreds of accumulated environmental damage sites have been eliminated. More than 6 million volunteers take part in community clean-up days and plant forests. In conclusion, the General Council Secretary urged citizens to submit proposals to the party’s new People’s Program.
