Russian "Atom": People's Electric Car with Home Delivery

"Sales start is scheduled for April officially," clarified Alexander Kostylev, Commercial Director of "Kama".

For early pre-order customers (since 2023, including KAMAZ employees, taxi drivers, car-sharing, and authorities), the base price is 3.9 million rubles. With a state subsidy of 925 thousand rubles on credit or lease, the final price is 2.975 million rubles. A prepayment from 250 thousand rubles locks in the price and provides bonuses: subscription to services, special key, "Care" program, and 3000 kWh of charging.

JSC "Kama" launched development in the summer of 2021 in Naberezhnye Chelny. The prototype was shown in Moscow in May 2023. Over 105 thousand applications have already been collected with a symbolic deposit of 7 thousand rubles.

Key investors: KAMAZ head Sergei Kogogin (about 1 million dollars), KAMAZ itself, state corporation "Rosatom". Businessman Ruben Vardanyan was involved with an investment of ~1 million dollars but exited by 2024–2025. Serial production is approaching — cars will hit the roads in spring 2026.

Serial version specifications

"Atom" offers 204 hp (150 kW) power and 295 Nm torque — acceleration to 100 km/h in 8 seconds, top speed 170 km/h. A 77 kWh battery (under the floor) provides up to 500 km range. Fast charging: 8 minutes for 100 km or 20–80% in 30 minutes at 120 kW. Rear-wheel drive (all-wheel drive planned), compact dimensions — 3995×1780×1615 mm, ground clearance 170 mm, turning circle 4.9 m. Suspension: McPherson front, multi-link rear; wheels R17–R19.

Features include 6 airbags, ADAS 2.5 systems with adaptive cruise, eco-materials, heated all seats, NFC, Type-C, climate control, 360-degree cameras. Colors: "Atom" (blue), "Photon" (white), and others. Warranty — 5 years or 150,000 km.

"Atom" is a breakthrough for Russian automotive industry: an affordable electric car with government support will strengthen independence from imported analogs, Vedomosti writes.
