India and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation against terrorism at multilateral platforms, including the UN, BRICS, EAG and SCO. The Ministry of External Affairs said the 14th meeting of the India-Russia Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism was held in New Delhi. The meeting was co-chaired by Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Sibi George, and Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Dmitry Lyubinski. Both sides strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism, and called for coordinated action against terrorists, their networks, proxies and affiliates. They exchanged views on regional and global terror threats and agreed to strengthen cooperation to tackle issues such as radicalisation, terror financing and the misuse of emerging technologies for terrorist activities.
