Only in the first ten months of this year, more than 4.6 thousand vacancies were posted on the hh platform, mainly in the education sector, including online schools, as well as medical institutions. The leaders by number of such offers were the Yaroslavl and Voronezh regions, accounting for almost 40% of the vacancies in the Central Federal District, as well as Belgorod, Ryazan, Tula, and Lipetsk regions.
The head of the "Career and Skills" direction, Marina Dorokhova, notes that modern speech therapists work comprehensively: they not only correct speech defects but also contribute to the development of social and communication skills, support motivation, and help adapt in groups.
However, along with the growth in demand, requirements for candidates are tightening. Besides basic professional skills, employers expect speech therapists to have knowledge of adult and child psychology, the ability to organize the educational process, and a high level of communication competence. A strong desire for continuous professional development is especially valued.
The average salary of a speech therapist in Russia has increased by 36% and reached 55.9 thousand rubles. In the Voronezh region, specialists can expect 58.5 thousand rubles, in Ryazan — 45 thousand, while in Yaroslavl, despite high demand, the average salary is about 37.5 thousand rubles.
The observed increase in interest in this profession is linked to a rise in speech disorders among children and the need for comprehensive correction, making speech therapy a promising and in-demand field.
