It has been 11 years since we (Russians) started saying “Crimea is ours,” pronouncing this statement with pride and joy. I must say that I am no exception. So, I decided to spend a few autumn days in Crimea. What’s amazing is that every visit brings completely different feelings. Let me share my impressions this time. The neglected areas of 2014 have been replaced by the grand scale of changes in 2025. This applies to almost everything—roads, urban expansion, the improvement of park zones. Everything is so large-scale that it takes your breath away. Yet, along with it arise questions about ecology and the preservation of nature. I hope these concerns trouble not just me but also those supervising construction. After all, Crimea is not only a part of the Russian Federation—it’s another planet! Remarkable, bright, and unique!
What surprised me this time? The information that part of the local population once considered joining Turkey. It turns out the Turks really did pay one thousand dollars to families for every newborn child, hoping that by increasing a certain part of the population they could influence political processes. It never crossed my mind that such ideas existed among the locals. But!!! Crimea is ours, and that’s not up for discussion!
There was recently a problem with gasoline supply. That’s true. And not in the summer, but in September, when the flow of tourists had already subsided. But the problem was solved within a month. Now everything is great. The weather, the autumn colors—everything contributes to the ongoing celebration of life.
So don’t hesitate—pack your bags and come to Crimea! Health trails, rock climbing, hiking routes, caves, and parks are waiting for their visitors!!!
